View Full Version : A lot of polys model Unwraping "problem"
Galal 02-28-2007, 05:42 PM I have a head model with a lot of edges so when i open the UVW EDITOR i can't see through this edges and i can't control the vertexes cause its too close to each other.
I'm using 3dsmax 8

I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to mapping and I'm currently trying to get my head around it all too. However, I believe one idea that can help is to unwrap/map your model before you've applied any mesh-smoothing and then tweak it again after smoothing, with another UWV Unwrap, to fine tune it. That way, most of the work is already done in "low poly" and you shouldn't have too much work to do with the more dense mesh.
Also, you could try zooming it to the areas that you need to work on with the maginfy tool in the UV Mapping window.
