Ha ha, alrighty all... I know the Dom War is going on, but I am struggling with it, trying to find a good concept, and I hate robots, so I decided to do this project. What I want to do is to create a full character that would be featured in a game like Titan Quest (but more 3rd person), where the character can switch armor and what not (I'll prob only make one set of armor) and also hopefully import him into Half Life 2 or something, I've never done that before, and would be a great learning experience :)

So right now I think I have a pretty good start on the base mesh, but as always, it's up to what you guys and gals think... I got cookies in the back for those who like it

Here's the higher res image! (http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/6311/preview1jk1.jpg)

Nothing to special right now, but hopefully I can get some cool armor, a weapon, and a nice normal map on this bad boy to make him look cool... and it'll be a nice portfolio piece. My targeted tri count is probably around 8k (bah seems so high) I'm not use to using these many tris, but I really need to get on the wagon for "current/ next gen" gaming.

Thank's in advance :)

Source character import is... deathly painful so you'll have a fun ride. :)

Good start!

Nice start. Might be worth moving in the hip bones a little, the pelvis and the gap between the legs look a little wide for a man. Like the pose in the upper body.

Nice clean mesh. I agree with Jol about the leg gap.

Yeh I was looking at the gap and it seemed to far apart, alrighty I'll fix that now. also i'm fixing the butt, cause people don't like it too much.

If importing to source is too hard, does anyone have any other paths I could take? I'm not a genius when it comes to this part of the stage, so the easier the better, but I just want it too look semi good in-game (keeping most of the effectiveness of the normals).

Oh and mindrot, nice boobbies :) (referring to the awesome vampire model)

Okie dokie, so I have decided to make some sort of Samurai MMO character, hopefully matching the quality of one of my fav MMO's, Guild Wars... with normal maps and what not (I wonder if that'll work)

Here is what I have so far, nothing special, next update will have some armor peices in place :)

Alritghy here is another update, getting more of the armor done. If it reminds you of anything (the armor) I based it off of "The Last Samurai" just cause I really like how the armor looks, I was debating going more fantasy, or more realistic, what do you think?
