For all the people who haven't tried the 2.0 beta yet, it really turned into such a cool modeling application. The way it integrates brushes, topology, etc. is really cool and let's you do some very efficient modeling.

doesn't look too "public" as I installed and it asks for a key. I guess I need to be registered with 1.0 to use it? I'll pass if so.

prolly they will there is demo for 1.4 so.. i thought they did not want to make beta public so that people where not dissapointed if there where many bugs :)
Also i thought i read somehwere that with 2 the price will probably be a bit higher, that is why i purchased it now :D the new beta is turning out pretty cool

Well, I hope one of these "public betas" wont require a 1.X key, so those of us considering the thought of buying Silo can see its future, and entice us. That 2.0 demo might come after the price hike, which might be annoying..
I'm curious, where does NeverCenter state that this is a 'public' beta?

Silo 2.0 Public Beta
The Silo 2.0 beta is now ready for use by all Silo 1.x users. If you would like to start using Silo 2.0 right away but do not own a Silo 1.x license, you can purchase Silo 1.4 now and use your license to activate both 1.4 and the 2.0 beta. If you purchase 1.4 now you will also receive a free upgrade to the full Silo 2.0 when it is released.
Nevercenter has a somewhat different definition of "public beta" because they also have a private set of beta testers. Their definition of public simply means that they're extending beta tests to all registered Silo users instead of just this private team. Not a bad idea when they're trying to weed out all of their bugs. Remember, the Silo dev team is (afaik) only 2 guys.
