[n.b.: PD Particles is a lite version of Project Dogwaffle's natural media painting and particle brush system. It can be used to paint tall grass, shrubbery and other foliage as well as hair, waterfalls and things alike. ]
A collection of 5 plugins has been released which extend the features in PD Particles. These are freely downloadable at http://www.thebest3d.com/pdp/downloads
One plugin is 'Store Image', aka 'Store Buffer', and lets you store a snapshot of the current image WIP in a thumbnail view for quick and easy one-click re-use, or for channel extraction such as using just the red channel.
Another plugin does similar things for the alpha channel: Store alpha also has an Invert alpha and a simple brush painting tool to fine tune the greyscale image of alpha. You can also fetch a copy of the RGB channels into the stored alpha.
A third plugin works as a toggle, to enable and disable painting directly on Alpha.
The remaining 2 plugins are for growing and shrinking the Alpha.
These new tools add more punch to PD Particles especially for 3D artists such as game developers who use PD Particles for their foliage creation.
