View Full Version : problems with mix8layer shader

hi, ive been using the mix8layer shader to create a car paint shader, i have my base coat on layer 0 and have my clear coat on layer one, with a screen filter. Whenever i try to render i am unable to get an alpha out of the render where i have used the mix8layer shader, is there anyway to avoid this or is this a problem with the shader? if anyone knows any info will be greatly appreciated.

Under the render globals for mental ray barried deep deep down under the custom entities tab is a check box called Pass custom alpha channel. I'll leave you to draw the remaining conclusion.

it worked, thank you, its wierd that it wouldnt just give u an alpha by default.
