not to be rude or anything, but it doesn't matter what bezel color your display is as long as it doesn't bother your eyes (i wouldn't suggest hot pink as a bezel color for example) :shame: . it's like saying "will that red integra be faster than that same one that is black?"

what matters is what actually is seen on the display. and if you are going to do graphics work, i would suggest using a crt instead of an lcd. color and resolution is still better than lcd's, it's cheaper, but it does weigh like a million times more than an lcd. lcd's are fine if you do occasional graphics work and/or want to reduce eye strain. if that fits your bill, then go for it. take the silver

Tx man..

ill take that into consideration..
the reason why ask is just cause i dunno if a silver color would affect my color perception.. or dimentions..
like if you put a black square inside a white square next to white square inside a black square then one looks bigger than the other.

or if you put a yellow box inside a blue box then then the yelow box looks greenish.
and stuff like that..
But again Tx

oh...if that's the case, this is what you want to get: http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?id=10037&CFID=2188956&CFTOKEN=44622470

or you can rig up your own enclosure like the one shown. if you are worried how the bezel color affects your color perception, then get something that is as close to black as possible.

I can't believe this topic has come up. We were about to buy 14 of the black ones from TechDepot for $800 back in December and the damn salesguy told us to wait till January when the prices go down. Guess what? The price on the black ones went up to $940. And no, we can't buy from newegg - we need a solid retailer with educational sales department.

We ended up ordering silver Dells UltraSharp 1900FP, which are the same only they don't swivel. $700.

But SILVER! It's not that silver is not good for graphic work, it's not good for any kind of work, period.

i just got it..

wanted to let ya'll know its really cool.
and i found some good uses for the option of making it portrait instead of landscape..

if u use the Hypergraph on maya its great to see the long list of objects!!:D
(with dual screens off course though)

as far as color.. it is really sharp and great color ..

the only issue i have is that when i am in shaded mode and have some colors that have some high saturationj i get some ghosting when i pan or zoom track or dolly. but besidesd that it looks super GREAT and also looks nice in my house hehe..

Well thanks for the input guys.. it really helped..:D

ohh the best part was the price..
USD $750 :D

alx,

where did you find it for that price? I have been looking into adding that monitor to my rig for exactly the purpose of having the ability to work in portrait on some of my layout projects.

Best I've found is around $800 shipped.

it was prices for 850 with a 100 dollar rebate.

the only down side is that the sale is over.. it finished the day after i bought it.. :(
sorry..
but if it was on sale once.. it will be on sale again... be on the lookout..
:D

i say black, just because i like black...other than what colors you like, I don't see any reason to think about this...
