Hi there,
I'm working on a classic dirty alley scene, but ran across something I am completely clueless on how to solve.
In my scene there's a piece of plastic tarp, just like the orange one at the top of this picture I used for reference;

Now the problem is that light passes through the material, but you shouldn't be able to see through it. Just changing the opacity won't work, so I'm guessing it's something with Absorption or subsurface scattering. Would anyone mind pointing me in the right direction, and explain to me what exactly happens in real life with the light that passes through the material? I'd just like to understand how I'm supposed to handle this.
Additionally, if anyone could explain me how to achieve this with Vray in Max9, i'd be even happier. I've read about the absorption/fog, and get the concept of SSS, but some info would be nice
