View Full Version : Radiosity Renders with c4d
MellowFellon 02-24-2007, 04:38 PM Hi, do you guys use c4d's advanced render for GI renders only? Or is there some other external plugin (similar to Kray for LW) that is used which is both fast and offers good Radiosity and GI.
Cheers

I use Advanced Render exclusively and am quite happy with the results I get. Looking forward to V-Ray though!

Does FryRender work with C4D?
I'm only seeing a mention that it works with Max.

Does it work with Mac? I didn't see anything on their site that said one way or the other.
Thanks,

So does anyone use c4d's internal advanced renderer for speedy quality GI radiosity renders in a production? Or is it quite slow compared to something like Vray. I didnt know Vray has been ported to cinema yet?

Fry does not work on a straight Mac and there are no plans in the foreseeable future to bring out a Mac version. You can run Fry on an Intel Mac running Windows XP. If you model with C4D, it will have to be a C4D/PC version to use the C4D/Fry plug. The plug will not run on a straight Mac.

i use if as an architect on a daily bases. i love it. used and optomised correctly it's still very fast. cant realistically be used with animation rendering due to a bug, but certainly my first choice for stills.
saying that, i'm looking forward to the vray plugin :)

we used it just fine in animation rendering last week, heck even over a network of 7-10 macs

I use it all the time - if you use it with low settings in conjunction with some material based ao you can get some quite fast clean renders out.
(looking forward to vray though.....)
