View Full Version : Batch rendering MR issue
Dansolo 02-24-2007, 10:34 AM I was trying to render a realflow sequence in Maya using Mental Ray with Global Illumination turned on, when I render a single image it looks like b43a.jpg, but when I batch render the whole sequence it looks like b34b.jpg.
Any one know why it looks different ?

I've had similar sorts of problems with mr not picking up all the attributes of objects/shaders when in batch render. I don't know exactly whats going on in your scene, see if you can get a single frame render to match your batch rendered version so you can track downm the attribute that's missing or being mishandled.
I'm gonna take a wild stab and say that it looks like your lights are not emitting specular in the batch render, since the liquid material has no highlights. Or alternatively, the material is not showing specular effects properly. What kind of material are you using for the liquid?

Im using a Phong material.
I turned off global illuination and the results were still the same, nice and green with specular highlights on a single frame render, but batch renders are dark with out highlights.
I had to sit and render each frame by hand on Satuarday. Its only a test so no real bother, its just anoying.
