except having summer holidays and the sea as great childhood memory i still remember a very vivid dream i had as a child a few times in my sleep! I used to read a lot of manga.
So I based it to my fav comic back then candy candy and a tribute to the master miyazaki:

I think I missed the deadline for this one, but I had to do it.

Its a sketch of me in middle school when I was stabbed twice in the stomach by...someone I don't like much. Took roughly 20-30 mins would be a lot more if I added color.

1h 30 mins, painter + ps cs2; ...tried a different sketching technique from what i usually use.
as a child, me and my friends always played a game we called "elevator of worlds", we sat in an old closet and imagined we could travel with that through different worlds/dimensions, lol. sometimes, i remember, i imagined the situation like this

silly me... for some odd reason i thought I only had 45 min to do this one, so i rushed it and instead of painting the background I took a photograph, my childhood memory of running in sports day, I am hopless at drawing myself even if its a cartoon version, so the kid looks nothing like me... lol

wow stevanche did you read sqee when you were a kid because I sware there is a sqee (comic) that your picture reminds me of.

I would set up the couch cusions on the floor and jump to each of them, why? Because there is lava, if you do not reach the other cushion then you burn ; ;

edit pscs2 about 1.75 hours

My grandfather ended up in Canada after he was released from a POW camp at the end of WW2. In order to be reunited with him my mother and grandmother had to flee their home country, which was now run by communists, in the middle of the night. My mother was only 5 and was so tired during the ordeal that she was half asleep and had a waking dream that she was being carried away by witches. She told me that story when I was very young and the scene I imagined was something like this. It's probably obvious that I was heavily inspired by Goya for this one.
