Do you think it is at all possible to Create a IK arm with a FK elbow ctrl, all on the same joint chain? Or i am following the white rabbitt?

It's possible, as long as your elbow fk controller has the ik controller as a child. I've seen some rigs use this. Though you will have to limit the number of axis it rotates in, and also set limits on the one axis you do allow it to rotate in.
