Hey everyone.... Does anyone know the best way to make cloth on an object (with-in 3d studio max 4). Say for instance i have a couch and i have a blanket that i want to lie on the couch. showing the folds comming down. I've started using a patch but was wandering if there is a better way. Ill attach an image to give an idea what im talking about. Cause i can only get the spline so close to the model untill it cuts in to it...ya know :)

You could use SimCloth (http://www.chaosgroup.com/SimCloth.html).
I know you asked about how to do it within MAX, but this plugin is just too awesome. And it is free and easy to use. Just create a piece of cloth above the couch, and then let it fall down onto it.

Sorry to jump in here like this; but I've been looking for Simcloth. You can't download it off their site or any of the plugin sites (max3d.com or maxplugins.de). Anybody know what's up?
