View Full Version : Q: openGl, textures in viewports
darren_t 02-28-2003, 02:08 AM for some reason or another textures wont show up in my viewports anymore. if i click on the show map button in the material editor the object changes color a bit, but doesnt display my bitmaps on them. any clues??

i forgot to mention that they appear in direct3d, but i dont like using it. this is very frustrating, trying to model from references is impossible.

Er.. uh.. and I suppose they work in Software as well?
My knee-jerk off-the-top-of-my-head response would be "make sure you're using the latest driver". Sounds pretty funky..

open oglgfx.ini in your maxroot and check if
MultiTexture=1 instead of MultiTexture=0
I had problems with this as well in the past and when i checked when i didn't have textures, MultiTexture was set to 0.
so then set it to 1.

this also happens when you forget to UV-Map an object
not likely...but the symptoms are the same, so check it ;)

Naw, then D3D wouldn't be able to show the textures. That's the part that makes it move from a user-error to a system-error thing me thinks :)

well i fixed the problem. new drivers didnt help. but a fresh install of max did.
