Title: Yellow close future soldier
Name: Cesar Rizo
Country: Venezuela
Software: Painter, Photoshop
I made this one to practice some character things that I've learned from a friend at work. The whole work was made in Photoshop CS to show a character with a couple of action poses, i hope you like it, critics and comments fire at will!

I’m surprised that no one has yet commented on it. As a concept I like it. It’s not over the top, as most soldier concepts tend to be. It seems functional and practical but I do have two criticisms to make.
The first one is related to your concept and that is lack of helmet. It looks strange that his body is protected with armor while the most vulnerable part the head, has no protection. When a soldier is not wearing his helmet it is normally lashed some wear on his webbing or backpack.
The second criticism relates to the face on the 3rd pose, it doesn’t look right to me, don’t know exactly why but this being concept art I will let you off.
By the way, it will be nice to see a camo version of this.

Im a student at an artschool, and the first and formost thing that is stressed and forced into our heads by all instructors is to maintain proper volume and structure for the figure. The last post by the previous person wondered what was off with the head; the head in the side shot doesn't have his facial features resting on the same axis' as the frontal. You can obviously do angles and calculations well, so if some more difficult organic study is put into the face and such, you'd have something alot more people will crit on,
taker easy guy and keep up the good stuff,
