Some things I've learned:
Before mirroring certain pieces of the rig (except Soft IK cahins, maybe) like IK targets, PoseMixer objects, some Xpressoo expressions, they seem to work better if they are "unlinked" first. Set up everything...like poses, but don't set them in the PoseMixer object just yet. Set up your IK, but unlink the targets after you're sure it works. Then mirror everything and THEN link the poses to the PoseMixer object, and reste your IK stuff.

Also, watch your "L"s and "R"s. I use L and R rather than RIGHT and LEFT, so when BonMirror changes Ls to Rs it does it everywhere. Which makes sense, but it's something I doidn't think about at first. So my "middle" finger on the left hand, became "middre" finger on the right! They have to be changed manually.

Please, whoever reads this, correct me if I'm wrong! I just finsihed a dino rig, and it's the first I've done, so I could, I say, I could be wrong!

Happy Rigging...

Another thing I've mentioned before, but worth repeating: if you mirror tip effectors they will move to the bone root on the mirrored side. Very bad. I agree it's best not to mirror goals and effectors in 8.012.

Adam.
this is something I could not verify--
if you create a tip goal, then it appears at the root-- as soon as you move it, it jumps where it belongs.--at least if you created your SoftIK tag manually and not by setting up the chain automatically--

The mirrored chain was correct then.

The TipRoot birth seems to be a bit buggy, but it functions in combat as wanted,it seems to me.

(who has rigged & animated 6 pairs of legs today with differnt shoes-- and thinks soft IK rocks, once one gets comfortable with)
What MOCCA could really need is a global reset to rest and then use SoftIK button--- since it is necessary to use the function all the time it would be really nice to have it (especially since lockes attribute managers re-appear emty after saving and re-opening the file--)
