View Full Version : layered texture and bump maps

for some reason , if i have multiple UV sets and a layered texture iconnected to my materials bump input, i can't connect the uv sets to textures as i normally would in the relationship editor. It works fine for color , specular , luminance, etc, but not with bump. aybe it's because the bump2d node is between the layered texture and the material node? I don't know.. anyone experience the same thing? This is mostly for when i'm adding detail maps to a character model, and i have hi-res maps for things like lips and eyes on top of a lower -res base texture.

Bump maps must be mapped with the default top level UV set in Maya. I know, it sucks incredibly but you'll have to work around that limitation. Use the default UVs for bumps and create other Uvsets for color etc.
