View Full Version : Great LW question!
proton 02-28-2003, 02:00 AM I have been asked this question quite a few times and thought I would share the answer with all of you.
Q: I have LW7.5 at work, dual, with usb dongle, on a MAC. Now, if my boss allows me, would i legally be allowed to put that copy onto my pc so i can do tutorials over the weekends, using the same dongle/registration code etc? I'll still be the only person using it, and no-one will be using it on my mac while i'm not there anyway.... Just wondered coz i think i'll be able to advance more if I can get to do stuff at the weekends...
A: Of course you can....That is the beauty of LW and the duo-dongle! I love that fact that when I travel with my laptop I can take my dongle on the road with me off my home workstation....
As long as you only have LW runningon one machine at a time you are ok!
let me know if this is confusing for anyone!

Soon someday I intend to buy a mac laptop...(why you ask, well i don't want to get in a heated debate so i won't say) but I like the fact that i just take my dongle from my pc to my laptop when I'm going to be on the raod...very nice :)

Dongles suck plain and simple.

At least the regular dongle is easy to transfer, the Toaster LW is a serious pain in the ass to people who don't have a regular copy too.
Dongles suck seconded!

"Dongles suck" ?????
After using other programs that have software locks that you can transfer using a floppy disc (running the risk of losing or getting a duff floppy disk), and having to re-apply for a new software lock every time you do something major to your computer, I would have to say that Dongles "ROCK" :bounce:
I've been using dongles for different programs for over a decade and have never had one go belly up on me, despite passing the odd printer through a few :shame:
Given the alternatives I would have to say that dongles are very reliable, unobtrusive and easilly portable.

Scala on the joystick and LW on the parallel right? You're not the only one:)
Dongles suck:) For starters, any tinkerer can clone one in about 15 minutes... I know I can.
