View Full Version : Should I use bump/normal/displacement mapping here?
iwto2000 02-21-2007, 05:27 AM I am working on a scene that has a brick floor. Now...My floor is made of 5 different bricks that are duplicated many times. Each brick is a simple cube that has been beveled and edited a bit. Now...I am wondering if it would be possible to get a similar look in a more efficient way by using bump/normal/displacement maps. Any thoughts? Thanks.

if you really need it that accurate and detailed ihmo there is no point in mapping. U could use scripting to create those irregularities on transformation and shading. I bet there allready are some scripts or stuff made for that purpose on highend3d.com.

p.s. please don't post images that large - it screws the thread layout.
