View Full Version : help to "Humanize" a dirt bike ( like in the "cars" movie )
Hi,
for creating a cartoon "mascotte", i need to stylize a dirt bike...
in the spirit of vehicle of the "Cars" movie.
i search tips, technique, to make a good cartoonish bike :)
if someone can help a little to have a good modeling start.

Well the biggest advice I can give you is to not even worry about modeling it yet. The first thing you need to do is get some ideas on paper. After you get a solid concept down then modeling will come a lot easier :)

I think gsokol's right, your concept is going to determine whether this works or not; I don't think bikes lend themselves to Cars-style super-deformation quite as well as automobiles, which is probably why I can't remember any in Pixar's movie.
You could perhaps try putting eyes either side of the front wheel (without spokes), or instead of a pair of big headlights, and make the body very squat and chunky. I also think you might have more luck with something like a superbike or maybe a kid's tricycle than a dirt bike as the proportions would be a little more appropriate...
