kind of like rail clone, but in illustrator you can blend between two different paths (curves in LW) interpolating between first and last shape, just like keyframes in LW also LW does this in other ways but maybe not specifically to go from one curve to another with as many iterations as I specify, this is sas related idea Ive got...

You can do a multirail extrude if you have several splines.
I use this to create hairguides in LW to use with saslite.
I pick a group of points, convert them to single point polys, set up 2-4 splines in the background layer and then rail extrude the points into 2 pt poly chains. Works like a charm. :)

wow so let me try and clarify what youre saying
in your example the group of points become a single hair guide? and the curves follow the scalp as your root origin? or the other way around?

The other way around. Every single point poly gets extruded to become its own hair guide. Check out this thread:
