Max Ver 5

Im having an issue and I was wondering if someone could help me out.

Currently Im working on a tutorial from a book and one of the directions states that I need to divide an edge on a object that has been converted to an editable poly.

Within the "Edit Geometry" section there isnt a selection for "divide". I know that If I am in "Editable Mesh" mode I can access it but the "Edit Poly" doesnt seem to have it.

So is there something Im doing wrong or is there an available script that will allow you to divide an edge on a Editable Poly object?

Thanks fellas...

maybe the tutorial requires you to use meshtools?

with meshtools (or max5, as it already integrates that feature) you can divide edges into 2/3/4 parts

if you don't have it already, get it right here (http://www.scriptspot.com/download.asp?ID=619&inf=1) - you'll need it anyway, even with max5 some of the meshtools function still provide better workflow

Cut, slice, connect. all of them "divides". All of these are available in the different subobject menus of editable poly. As fist mentioned that you can divide edges, you can to the same with connect feture.

Btw meshtools are included on your second cd.

This is why I love this board :p

It seems that I was using the tool correctly (Mesh tools) Divide, but I think I was expecting it to do what Chamfer does and I thought I was doing something wrong when it didnt do that.

Thanks, I understand now.
