CGTalk - plug-in problems

what should I do when I try to load a plug-in in Maya4, and I go to my plug-in manager and there is nothing there? and I try to go and manually load it but nothing happens when I load it? please help.... desperate

c'mon people could someone help me? does anyone have a clue of why this would happen? c'mon boys and girls help a brotha' out

Where have you been putting the plugins? Are they definitely in C:\AW\Maya 4.0\bin\plugins ? Sorry if that sounds patronising, but its pretty important.
