Dell have a 24" for around 707 $ that is being recommended around at the moment, if I had the money I would get it.

I knew some TFTs with so called "motion blur effect" by playing animations, modelling or even moving the mouse-pointer.

I saw this some time ago, the question is, how good are TFTs today, are DELLs TFTs free of this kind of "bug"?

Whats about Apple TFTs?

Anyway Dan1el, thanx for answer...

What's your budget?

Eizo produces very good displays. Take a look at the CE240W or S2411W.
Nec is shipping his 25,5" monitor too.

I think your Motion blu effect is something of the past, when reponstimes where above 16ms, today most screens are below 8 ms.

From my understanding the Dell 24" uses a PVA panel. For a "top" CG LCD you need atleast a S-IPS panel. The only Dells that are coming with S-IPS panel are the 30" models and some 20" ones. No gurantee on the 20" ones though as they can be PVA as well. Correct me if I am wrong though :-)

This is a good one as well- http://www.eizo.com/support/discontinued/graphics/CG220.asp

I personally would get the latest Dell 30" HC version instead of the prices Eizo charges for their 20" + displays.
Again feel free to correct me :-)

Make sure to check your monitor out before buying. Dell released two versions of the 24" TFT. the 2405 is an 8bit perchannel LCD with a grey to grey response of 8ms. Some gamers reorted issues with refresh. Dell is now offering the 2407 which (like many consumer panels) is actually an 6bit per channel LCD with a 6ms or better response.

I regularly use a 2405 and find no problems with response or colour. Dell are now offering a 27" with better response and a much better colour gammut. From what I can tell this monitor is very similar to the 25.5 model from NEC

Eizo are good as is the Lacie. they have nice internal LUTs but if you are mainly doing broadcast or 8bit work then what really matters will be your broadcast monitor any way !
