View Full Version : Character: Nazi (Agaaain ;)
DDrake 02-27-2003, 07:32 AM Hi !
Maybe you remember that character from an old post :D
Well, i have decided to work more on it since i have a better computer and now i can work faster.
At this point, I know more or less what feeling i want to transmit with this image, but i would like some suggestions about the model itself.
I´m working on the insignias (those little coloured things Admirals and those kind of people puts on his chest...) and i plan to make some more wrinkles here and there. The background, of course, is temporal.
Right now i´m too tired to take wireframes, but tomorrow they will come.

Thanks!
PD: Max and Photoshop all the way. Scanline render.

Good job, yeah the problem is the texture, try adding a little bumpmapping into your shader it should help alot to make it look much more realistic, keep up the good work! nice modeling!
Fakie, I believe you want to say that the jacket doesn't have wrinkles... They have to be there... And those little chest things... Aren't they called medals?

Awesome work on the model..any plans for a big bullet hole in between the eyes L...One thing as to detail though, I believe if you check it out members of the cruel, brutal SS had a skull insignia on their cap not what you have there

Its looking nice Good texture on the face and the hat. One thing it all looks to new. The coat looks to cleana and too flat. It also could use some variation in the texture. The way the textures look it looks a little too much like clay. Keep up the good work on it though and lets see a wire.

I have worked more on the face and eyeglobes. I hope to finish it all this week.
Some comments:
I´´m working on some more wrinkles on the hat and the coat.
The medals are coming on next update
Wires too :D
I plan to put some Fur on the fabrics to make it much more realistic. I have done some tests and it works :D Right now it is deactivated, but in the final render it will be there. The fabrics now has more bump.
I would like to make a glass of the glasses broken... what do you think?
Oh, and do not think i like the nazi way or similar :D It is just an idea i had and it is not associated with my personal opinions on politics or whatever other shit of those :D
Thanks!!

Everything from the collar up looks outstanding! I think the only part that needs some extra work would be the missing wrinkles on the coat and also some 'wear' or roughening effects on the corners of the clothes (ie where the uniform is getting more worn down).
I don't think cracking the glasses would be appropriate, (I think Nazi's were sticklers for perfection, I doubt this guys superiors would be impressed by cracked glasses) but increasing the amount of refraction for the lenses would be a good idea, so it seems more like a lense:) Maybe experiment with giving the guy a monocle instead of glasses? just a thought...
Outside of that, its a truly excellent nazi!
