Hello, this is the first full body that I have created, and the first character I have made in Maya. ( I have been using Maya for about a couple months now) This girl is inspired by Steven Stalhbergs work (even though its no where near his quality) and her head uses his topology design. Thanks Steven!

Anyways, its subdivision modeling, I created a low res poly model, worked on it a bit, converted it to sub d to check it, and converted it back to poly and kept working. Its so fast that way. Took about 4 days to make it so far...The final poly mesh was like 1000 polys, and this is what it looks like after being converted to sub d.

I mirrored the geometry, and slapped some half ass textures on the face. There arent any feet, ears, hair, clothes, etc...Almost done with those...

I didnt use any reference for the body, but I started to use some for the face. I would like to use some for the body now to make it look better. Anyone know any good reference pics I could use? They would be helpful.

Well, anyways, critiques are welcome. Thanks again.

A very good start.

Assuming you're going for an idealised female body -
The shoulders and the upper torso may be too wide, the arms may be too short (remember distance between index tips when arms held horizontal equals total height of body, for both men and women).
Neck may be too short, but this is a matter of taste perhaps.

I really like the knees and legs, though they may be slightly bowlegged - not unrealistic though. Keep up the good work!

Cool! Thanks for the reply Steven! I think the thighs look ok, but they could still use some work...but from the knees down I think looks like Blah...do you have any tips? They would be very appreciated.

update:
I made the amrs longer, the chest narrower and her neck longer. I tried to make her legs not so bowlegged, but they still look it. I need to look at an anatomy book for the muscles of the legs..

Looking good, but it looks like the shapes of the legs need more refinement, especially if you want a slender look.
