nice work...
but....
why is that coloured portrait included in the credits?
I felt that it totally threw off everything and had nothing to do with the piece overall. I would recommend taking that out of the credits. Your demo is strong enough without it.

VERY COOL!!! I think the Movie could use some more character introduction - I tought it was kinda confusing at the beginning.
I just love the way you recreated this old look and feel. Very often, such projects just make everything black and white, add some grain and everything else stays modern. But here - the lightning, the close-up's on the faces.. everything fits...
And the cheesy glowing eyes effect is the killer :buttrock:

I need some help!
I've tried to see you're demo reel but I only hear the music(no image) when I open it in mediaplayer.
Does anyone know what's wrong?
I've tried to open it(streaming) via the link, and I've also tried to download it with the same result.

well done.
The references to old Nosferatu-like silent films are great. You did an excellent job in reproducing that feel.
My comments on the demo reel:
- Remove the drawings, all of them. The animation is strong enough on it's own.
good luck-

The look and the work on your characters comes through very well, they look excellent. The high contrast and subtle filter works really well and give it a look beyond regular CG. It reads very well and is perfectly clear what is happening, and the animation looks great too! Great work on every part of the project.

great work chris!
- i remember the first time i saw your work in acting class and we talked about the story and you were still thinking about how to show the little creature's grief about his broken toy.... you really resolved it well. it is very clear now-- good storytellling-- each shot has a specific purpose for the story and the actions make the intentions clear.
striking lighting makes a very cool look too--- cabinet of criscoon, no?

great feel the everthing seems prity good though i am no expert. Only thing i would say is that there where quite a few people involved in it atleast thats what i got from credits. I just love thos old school black and white feel but lose the textures with that though that might have been the point.
Congrats and good luck on the job search

I just had to watch it again. Really captured the era from start to finish. Just enough lighting without hiding the great animation. I hope your concept work goes well for you but hope to animate with you again.
