I've been roped into participating in the war :-) Let the learning begin. Current concept follows. He went through a couple iterations. Weapon and back design are up in the air, as are finishing details. I'm joining a bit late, but I'll try my best to have something finished by the deadline. Wish me luck!

Good luck and happy modeling! I really like your concept.
Pretty solid start. but need to make him look more ancient. May still be young looking, but has to feel old.

I'm not sure how to make him look more ancient - maybe I'll pull that in when I sketch out the back this weekend. Just for interest, here's a couple earlier images, plus ones influenced by suggestions. I initially wanted his armor to be more organic or decorative, but then he just started looking like an elf. Any input would be appreciated. :-)

hey lazybutt, time to start modeling! don't wanna fall behind, do you?! I'm starting my model today, and I'm eager to see what you come up with when you get back.
Well...since I'm here I might as well make a suggestion; work the asymmetry to create more visual interest and give some thought to what we were talking about, armor placement around a defensive style. much luck!

Since I've been barraged by various name calling I gugess I'll have to post. This is my first time modelling with Max, so things are slow going between all my after work classes:-p Anyway, check out the suckage. Days off tomorrow and Friday, should make lots of progress this weekend.

Yea I know, I'm working on it. I'm reposting the latest with the cgtalk attachment feature. I hope my site comes back up soon. Not much room on the attachments here.
looks good, the facial proportions makes him look older and less boyish. The wrist looks a little flattened.
Keep up the good work
