The Vista support and DX10 sounds very cool. I have run max on vista, but there were some problems with it.
If we are lucky DX10 will be faster than DX9, that was the case with DX8 to DX9 at least.

Autodesk does actually have a news site about it:
http://www.autodesk.com/mini-sites/buzz/en/

Not until March 27th.

It already works in Vista actually, just not perfect. The aero effects mess up the interface but if you turn those of it works fine.

I'm glad with the Vista support... It's odd, Max8 has a lot less problems than Max9 on Vista 64 right now... go figure! :D

It would be nice if Autodesk releases a Service Pack for both 32 and 64 bit. At the moment there are huge issues when working with the two versions.

you could just see the Autodesk forums and make a few.

In the pipeline that I'm working - Edit Poly modifier done in 32 bit makes scrapped meshes in 64 bit. Have to convert to Edit Mesh, which is a real nightmare with lots of objects.

Problems with the importing of the Autocad 2004 format - the block/style/parent objects that "sit" in the scene, taking file space and making changes hard.

Layer Manager hangs occasionally with big scenes.

Some scenes don't open in DirectX at all. Without the patch from Microsoft Direct 3D driver crashes a lot.

Software Z buffer driver is gone in XP 64.

-----
Bottom line - I really like version 9, and 64 bit especially, but I really wish that Autodesk cleans up thing sooner. If we wait for v. 10, it will also have problems and the things go on an on...
