Its because there are people and animals there that he can't see, so Gary didn't model them. I thought it was a nice touch. :)

Oh. . .I see. . . I didn't realize we ourselves were blind (kinda like his Perspective) at that time the first time watching it. Makes sense now.

I am so glad that you have raised the question. Originally when I came up with the idea, I was going to have the blind guy's world in black and white and have him react to sounds and voices. The deaf guy's world was going to be colorful but no sound. and have them react to different things. In that Scene where the blind guy falls for no reason, he was actually bumped by people. I have asked the sound design students to put in phrase like "Watch where you are going" and stuff like that just to make it clear. I am very anxious to see what sound effects those people have come up for my reel, it should be very interesting...........sorry for the confusion

I think that sound design will really help reinforce your idea. Which is indeed a cool idea. But it needs the sound design to work, otherwise I think it just looks like there's no one around. (The black and white thing may help too but proly its not really necessary if you have the sound in there) Either that or you'd have to actually model some people around the deaf guys scene. (Since he can see and there are no people around him . . .besides that cool looking dog) I really picked up on the deaf guy when there was no sound....that was really cool and I noticed right away. But for the blind guy I didn't pick up on that initally. I was really confused because all I heard was some guy laughing. . .which lead me to believe that some ghost was messing with him. . .But again...once sound is in there that might help reinforce your inital idea. Hopefully I can see it again when the sound is final. Until then. :beer: :D

Well that was a pretty cool animation. Although the missing sound and missing people can be confusing at first. But storywise and looking at the animation on it's own it's :thumbsup:

o yeah right......u might want to change the end though, ten seconds of only music and no image is kinda boring.

dbach: if you wanna play the divx compressed test.avi on Mac, you should go to www.versiontracker.com, and download some of the codec/apps available under the "Divx" search result. I hope that helps you :)

i love the look of this piece, very simple and original!

the stylizations of the characters look great against the backgrounds. great balance of color and line. you really made the characters come alive and we believe in their handicaps. the interaction between the two is perfect! you have a wonderful story and tell it well. i smile every time i watch it. that is good animation.
