May i honestly say, i despise the negative voters who don't have the guts to write a single line about what they don't like in a piece of art.
Hey, maybe we should make voting public instead. See where they'll hide.

Hey, maybe we should make voting public instead. See where they'll hide.

this is part of my post from last Sokolova's threat:

Because voteing should be aloved only from "post level" - then if you vote were 1* you should explain why your judgemnt is so low. Now it is anonymous and any jealous kid is able to ruin overal "score" of the work. Not to mention that "voteing" like that is insult to serious people and artists' authority ,who still gives their votes in fair way as a expression of their true intentions and feelings about judeged work. In my opinion if you don't like the artwork you should keep your 1* in your wallet. I t is better to have no stars at all then 2 or 3 stars ,especially when posts under your work speak the same - "excellent -5*" or "amazing work 5 stars from me " .

end of quote

I think moderators should done something with that. Once this voteing mean something imortant, and getting stars was some kind of payment for our hard work, now it becomes a silly play for all those frustrated and jealousy kids. I do not care anymore if I have 5 stars or 1 - because it has nothing to do with my art anymore , now is just a result of multiple random cliks on voteing panel by random people.

But Im still do care A LOT about true votes ,those posted under my artworks , even somethimes they say just " 5 stars" or " 3* -i dont like it" , i know these posts were made by true and serious people and I feel much repect for all of them.

And that's is my advice to Kan also - belive only to people who has, at least little courage, to say something before vote , and don't pay to much attention to your oveall score ,rating - because it is simply not real anymore.

This concept art , has everything to get 5 stars :
-great concept
-great light
-great composition
-fresh style
-lot of dynamics
and lot of other stuff which makes it unique

people who gave You 1* to lower your rating simply doesn't understand it ,or even do not understand what is art all about,at all.

Keep doing great work and red only posts under Your work. If you care about awards and fame, take your chance in on of CG Challenges or submit to one of new Ballistic books - they still have Judges who knows what they doing .or...

You can wait few months and apply to my project, Im going to need lot of help from such talented artists like you :D Wait few month because Im still not able to pay for your work, and still looking for sponsorship. anyone?

Wow, this is more then i expected.

NathanLB: Thanks mate, i appreciate it a lot!

Dennik: Thanks a lot! I'll come to the subject of voting in a sec.

Morano: Muchos Grazias, mister!

yhao0930: Thanks! It's a new direction i'm goint to. No drawing, just building up the figure with the paint.

Dennik & Morano: That rating system is very frustrating indeed. To be honest, i love seing my work in bling-bling but recently, i stopped caring about it. Because, just as you both said, there's always someone disliking me for my rude language, since i'm not really Mr. Nice Guy and don't ass-pat everyone just to make myself popular. I was flamed to sky when i gave a little crit to Stahlberg: there were hordes of raging fans on my neck.
But Steven was the only one who took my crit as something constructive and appreciated me not being a slimy fan.
So at the end, it's not only honey and lollipops, right?
If someone gives it a bad note, then she/he should let me know why. Just as giving 5 stars requires explanation.
Thanks God, there are guys like two of You, who are honest and straight - it would be ok even if you would have given me 1 star. I like being surrounded by people like You and as long as there's enough of people of that kind, so long i intend to stay here on CG Talk.

I truly am VERY GRATEFULL for your support, fellaZ.
That is what gives me strenght and puts smile on my face, for there are too many sleeples nights behind me and this is the greatest award for all those efforts.

BTW Morano, yes, i'd love to join You. Let me know as soon as You go for it.

Once again, thanks guys.

Best regards and big respect,

Khan

Due to restriction of posting images of min. 600px, i thought of displaying a smaller version of this painting for better viewing:

:D

I was flamed to sky when i gave a little crit to Stahlberg: there were hordes of raging fans on my neck.

lol, true true. Because there are on this forum: Gods ,just ordinary Holly People and ... normal guys. If you touch that hollyness will be stoned for sure. Once i wanted to say some crits about one of Linda's artwork , but I guess someone could burn my car next day,so i didn't .

But Steven was the only one who took my crit as something constructive and appreciated me not being a slimy fan.

Because some people are still serious ,and Im sure Steven too. They know the rules of this forum - You post art so be ready for critique , but it should be constructive ,that's how it should work. Unfortunately they are lot of people who can't understand that simple rule. Maybe they'll grow up some day.
Im struggling with one person here which I won't call by name. I crit her work a lot because she 's makeing the same errors all the time , and every time I post something , she's getting pissed off along with army of her fans. Meanwhile my intention was never to ruin her authority but help to improve her work. Ahh, I guess She would like to stay behind the sphere of glass sourrounding her "perfect world" anyway

Thanks God, there are guys like two of You, who are honest and straight - it would be ok even if you would have given me 1 star.

Yeah ,thanx God :) But I really like that kind of style, It need for sure a strong courage to paint that way while the overall fashion is to produceing mircoscoping details and photo(s) realistic art. While art is not about makeing this way ,but share feeleings ,atmosphere, expression etc etc. The best example is Craig Mullins' careere who never payed to much attention to details ,however his work are always both photorealistc and fullof (pseudo) details. Pseudo details is a therm i use for way of painting and useing natural eye intention to illusions- from distance your eye tells you there is a detail while zoomed view discover that this is a pattern, brush stroke or piece of texture- the whole traditional oil paintng were build on that way of painting. Since we have digital painting which alowes us to paint pixels it becomes almost insane in some cases. yours style strenght is it alowes You to catch all those things I've mentioned (expression , pesonality, atmosphere etc) because it is fast ,while people who work 2-3 weeks on hair details loseing or even not thinking at all about very important things like composition ,anatomy ,perspective etc. As a result of 2 months of hard work we have ...a crap, but with super realistic hairs on it. And in my opinion that's ain't art at all.

BTW Morano, yes, i'd love to join You. Let me know as soon as You go for it.

you got it, i plan to set a web site or forum soon which task would be to gather all the people wanted to join me and work on Venhelis. hope to do it about 2-3 month from now.
