So far the little what i've been playing around with the Evaluation has been quite great time. It works perhaps a little slower then v.3 (also the help window slows it too, naturally. But then again, my computer is a bit busted nowadays too) but besides that, i've been loving it. UDT toolbar has been quite fun to use so far. One just have to think in a fresh way from now on how to use the Bend, Twist and all the rest of the commands in an imaginating way. Some nice improvement in Properties area and also the Rendered view with textures works well. Even the Rhino's default Rectangular Light gives some nice shadows from what i've been checking it breafly, definitely something new. But still in the core it's the same old rhino that appeals to the veterans (that's not me) and hopefully for some new 3D enthusiastics aswell. With the very little i've experienced now, i'm so convinced that THIS is the one that will keep me busy from now till... well, till the next version atleast :) Good job!

I bought V3 a little over a year ago and immediately started on the V4 Beta and loved it and still do.
The slowness thing is usually a hardware problem. Try messing with the openGL settings and caching and I bet you can get rid of it.
I used Autocad for close to 20 years and switched to Rhino immediately because of the UI and the power and of course the support.
I create all my 3D models in Rhino now.

I never noticed if it's slow!
In fact I feel it's faster than V3!!

you are not alone :)
but I don't have 20 years experience, what version would that make you have started on then?
I have been a beta user of Rhino since before v1 and recognized it's power to do what autodesk products could not then. just the predatory marketing and monopolistic tactics of autodesk that have other people keeping me use their products because they overpaid so much

i mean their CEO even quit to join Bush 'science' team that tells you ALLOT

Hi antisthenes..
I started on Ver 2 or 2.1 for DOS.
Unfortunately I need it for my work as Rhino doesnt have the page layouts importing from Autocad yet. When that happens I may be able to drop AC alltogether.

YA!
that's my request and I believe we will have it in less than 1 mo.
then i can make the transition to working on current old jobs with Rhinoceros.

have you played with the Intellicad stuff? that stuff trips me out it's a little too familiar to me ;)

The 3d tools submenu don't appear when I click with the left mouse button and instead need to click with right click. Also some other submenu won't appear, just an outline of blue around it supposedly to show that it contains a submenu, Also when in the sub menu of those working ones, when highlighted a tool, the name doesn't show up.. so I don't know what I'm choosing .

Thanks in advance.

I felt like it is also much faster dealing with big parts.. My v3 w/rhinocam when I would make a machine code then it really slowed... Now, not a problem...
