This is probably a dumb question, but in Maya 4.5 the ShaderLibrary doesn't show in my Hypershade. I reinstalled it several times without success. Funny thing: on Maya 4 which i still have on the system everything works just fine.

I have the A|W recommended drivers. Could it be Maya 4.5 doesn't find the path to the Library?

if you can locate it on your disk add the tab by hand

i had the same problem, but only when i installed mentalray.

to create a tab: surf through the menubar of the hypershade. and will find it.

my bad, that's the only drawback if you are used to the hotkeys/hidden interface working style - sometimes you miss out whole menus you never use...

still didn't solve the problem yet, i'll get the updated mental ray from A|W - see if that does the trick...

Had the same problem a while back. Read your version of this -

C:\Program Files\AliasWavefront\Maya4.5\docs\en_US\html\UserGuide\Rendering\helpShaderLibrary.html

Did you install the older version of Mental Ray for Maya?
Uninstalling it may help.

I used to have this problem but after installing the current version it is now ok!
