I've been trying to do a relatively simple comp recently and have got completely stupified by the problems it induces.
Basically it's quite simple ... Bg is a still image of a street scene to which I was trying to comp a car sat on a box to take the matte/shadow material.. but the car appears semi transparent. After much testing I realised that this is being caused by the way Max handles ray traced reflections with screen mapping.. the more reflectivity.. the more transparent it appears. Can anyone point me towards a solution or work around for this.. I tried putting the bg image on a box instead but of course then the box containing the matte/shadow material renders so that's not an option. :)
