View Full Version : TurnToolbox 3.1 -Realtime 3D online
TurnTool 02-13-2007, 09:36 AM TurnTool is proud to announce the release of TurnToolBox version 3.1.
Click here to update: www.turntool.com/ToolboxInstall.exe (http://www.turntool.com/ToolboxInstall.exe)
When you update your version of the TurnToolBox to 3.1, there are several new additions. The export time has been shortened considerable, resulting in faster exporting / creating of TNT-files. The loading time for the objects exported is furthermore brought down because of a decrease in the TNT-file size, saving you time and memory. It also include a new help-interface that makes it incredibly easy to get the help you need, when you need it.
It is still free to use as long as you don't mind the logo.

I don't think this will work it is windows only, the web exists out of more then windows alone. It is the reason why openstandards are important.

You are right. There are other computers than the windows based. About 3,3% use Linux. - and a little more MAC (source: http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp)
Which would you start out by supporting (The two mentioned is under development)?
You probably don't mind using flash which isn't an open standard either ;-)

Actually i prefer to stay away from flash..although flash is supported by all these devices even handhelds, but when you are running a large commercial site you don't want to miss any customers / visitors :)
Also w3schools is not representative for the entire web last stats i have seen was about 80% where windows based machines.

Can you explain the licensing a little better?
I was ready to purchase until I came across the subscription info.
Do you have to keep a subscription current in order to use the software even after you purchase the full version?
Thanks

Hiya
Is there a way to code links from say clicking on a painting on the wall ?
That feature would potentially be a selling point.

You can execute javascript code when you click on an object, so you can do all sorts of things.

The subscripton license model for this software is IMHO insane.
I would never, ever be inclined purchase this software because of this.
Shame too, because I would if it were not for this single issue.

Yes the subsciption model on this software is the only thing stopping me from purchasing this software right now.

Hi
After many long deliberations over the last years we have decided to drop the subscription licensing.
The price now 998USD / 798EUR for version 3 of the TurnToolBox. All bugfixes and upgrades for version 3.x are free.
- And I'm sure there are some new features you will like. I've seen the first tests ;-)
Our development is guided by what you guys need, and our licensing is now matched as well.
NO SUBSCRIPTION -and we listen.
For BluemagicUK: We are all the time collecting requests for 3D programs that people want supported. When we have 10+ who wants to purchase a version we usually develop it in 4-6 months. If you are interested in being on the Maya list please write to info@turntool.com saying so.
