It’s pretty self explanatory. Let me know what you all think. I'll be changing the animation a bit, in addition to adding some outtakes.

if i were you, i would figure out what happens to a car when it gets a big solid stationary cylinder (representing the mans leg) jammed into the front of it. right now, you only have the hood buckling...but how can the hood buckle if nothing else buckles...i would say take a look at some animations of cars running into fire hydrants, that would be a pretty close idea of what is going on here, just reduce damage to the axle.

I know this will annoy you and you probably wont do it, but i would refilm the guy and have him push his leg up against something solid and then just blue screen it. it will make it look like he is pushing against something cuz right now it looks like hes falling backwards and the car is just bouncing off the tip of his toe.

Very good start tho, youre on your way. I have no idea how to do this process so props.

I've been thinking about it and realized why it looks sort of wrong. To put it simply, the jeep should get way more f**ked up. A 3 ton jeep stopping that fast from a frontal impact would take more damage, plus the jeep would not bounce backwards like it does. All of the suggestions I've gotten from various people seem to point to the same thing: the jeep moves as though it is light weight and rigid.

I'll be changing the animation to reflect my 'calculations'. I think it should look much more impressive.

LMAO. This is really cool. REALLY NICELY DONE and there is some good acting by the guys in there too. BUT ... the guy kicks the jeep rather high and the vehicle moves quite fast so I'd make the front part go even lower, I'd make the rear tires detach from the road and fall back again, and maybe it would be to much but if the rear tires would have some more detail so that the viewer could see them rotating in the air during the impact.

Nice idea.
One little thing though: the sound of the horn comes from the left while the car comes from the right.

Well first off, I dont think that the car weighs 3 tons... maybe 1 at the most.

but more importantly, yes it needs way more damage but where is the residual motion? it just went from 45 to 0 instantly and the car stops shaking and rolling like a second after he kicks it? The car should have pieces falling off, be bouncing a little bit (the read wheels could possibly lift off the ground) and it should be rolling backwards too probably.

good work so far though, working with live action is not as simple as some might think.

i assume three tons is too high but essential: the damage is not enough.

nice work.
from a fellow New Orlenian too:thumbsup:

i havent seen many live action composites in my relatively short time on this site.
one of the toughest things to do is mix cg with film and really make it work. even bigtime special effects studios go through hell to make it look believable.

looks like the jeep is light, quick, and dosent get damaged easily. there was another thread here with someone doing car accident animations, you should check out some of those, his physics were very realistic (i should know, ive been in my share of accidents :D)
