well... this is just the start for an ambitious project: to make the model of the Court of Lions at Alhambra Palace, Granada, Spain

The fountain is still a W.I.P. (I'm not satisfied with the look of water) but it would be great to hear your opinions in order to improve some details...

Software used:

Viz4
DeepPaint (mapping)
DarkTree/Simbiont (texturing)
RealFlow (water)

...and greetings to all. Just found the board today

that's an awesome start. I agree about the water (really noticable on the top of the fountain) but the other details are outstanding.

Heya!

first of all.... ur pic is awesome, I like it a lot, looking forward for more updates!!!

but I have...

some suggestions:
1.- add dirt! everything looks too clean (it's a really old fountain, unless someone spent a lot of time and money to get it cleaned up :))
2.- geometry of the fountain (break up those straight lines if u can, but it all depends if ur going to see it close or not)
3.- the texture on the background floor looks weird (not as realistic as all of the fountain/sculptures textures IMO, but I can-t see it very well, maybe we can see a pic from another angle?)
4.- true, water from the mountain should be more transparent i think...

great details and textures/lighting work!

more! more! (I luv architectural stuff :))

ciao!

I don't know if you mentioned Prog and Renderer, but I think you should put it into a high quality renderer with some moodier lighting.

Everything but the water coming out of the fountain on the top looks amazingly realistic.

Great work, yeah, awesome... etc.

oh guys! ...a hard work is waiting for me: I'm decided to finish this exceptional piece of architecture. take a look:

http://public.logica.com/~photoclub/images/amar_khwaja/inside_ornate.jpg

for the moment it is impossible to show the scene from another point of view: because behind the fountain there's NOTHING! ...some day I'll post here the whole courtyard...

...and thanks for the comments!

Comentario para mi compatriota Pancreas: Ay! los mocárabes*, los mocárabes... si no lo logro habrá que decir: "Llora como mujer lo que no supiste modelar como hombre"

*mocárabes: those ornaments hanging from the arcs and vaults

Explanation about the above comments:

Boabdil V was the last arabian king of Granada. When the Spanish kings reconquered Granada in 1492 (the same year America was discovered) Boabdil starts to crying and his mother told him: "Cry, cry like a woman what you didn't know how to defend as man"
...I say that if I can't to model this in 3D I'd say: "cry like a woman what you didn't know how to model as man"
