View Full Version : Avoid stretching uvmap
juanmanuelsanchez 02-12-2007, 09:38 PM hi all ! I have a uvmap, the problem is that I was trying to optimize it and I had some stretching in the uv, sadly the uv has many parts and the model has many parts so its impossible to really see it all.
Is there a automatic way or some easy technique to fix this? Im using 3dsmax9.
Thanks a lot

You could do a huge selection over everything and then relax the uv's. it is a setting in the uv dialog box. i always relax by uv faces.
will that work?

well I tried but I get even a worse deformation, if you can tell me the best settings to use that would be great.
Any other method is welcome
Thanks in advance

if you've used the optimise modifier then I'd say you'll have to re-do the uv's,relaxing what you have wont work as the optimise mod totally screws up the mapping.

IF they have anything like the unfold uv option in maya then that helps prevent stretching immensely if u made seams in right places
