How DARE they destroy one of our ancestral planets! Did they think such an outrageous act would not go unpunished? Do they think they are the sole inhabitants of this universe? For a mere 3000 years we have slept only to be awakened by some silly squabbling children. Look at them. Look at them scurry about in their absurd games of war. Look at their ridiculous accomplishments; 11 planets burning, one planet gone! This must NOT continue! Come! Come sisters, brothers, fathers and friends, come and let us once again eradicate the source of a new irritation. As our consciousness awakens, let our hands become once again active. Let us smite these pests and make them understand the reality of our utter supremacy!

http://www.dominancewar.com/2/images/spacing.gifAs the rest of us awaken, Go first my Shadows! Let it be known to all that the Society has returned and let it be known to all that in the face of war, we are ABSOLUTE! Destroy those who dare challenge us and open a path of fire that leaves no doubts as to our intentions; we are simply here to cleanse ALL! Now go, and restore our name as the most powerful force in the universe!. . . CGSociety!!

--------------------------------------------------

...We've awoken from our sleep and found the worlds we had once created burning in the voids of space. It is now up to us to see to the cleansing of these reckid beings from our created planets. We must leave our tombs of Gold, and our beatiful planet full of oasises where we were once able to swim and bathe without worries.

It is now up to us to destroy the leaders of these rising armies to throw them into chaos as we form the rest of our army for the final cleansing. Send out the shadows... their feline grace and cunning gives them the ability to get into areas no one else can... they shall find and assisinate all that oppose us, and create great turmoil in these puny goverments. And after our shadows have sown decinsion in the armies, our forces will strike out and anhilate the rest of them so that the universe will not be troubled with thier petty wars...

Tony and I (Mike) worked on this concept together. We were thinking that I female assassin would be really fun to work with. Since our race hasn't been around for 3,000 years we felt that a Egyptian theme would also be appropriate for our concept.

We'll probably finalize our concept in the next couple of days and start modeling and looking into material references soon.

Comments and Crits welcome as Usual :D

Whats your ideas on color scheme? Is the cat going to be striped, spotted, patchy or just solid?
Another comment, she is very androginous to me right now. Lack of "chestyness" and or wide hips.
Just a thought....

Yeah I can see what you are saying about the body, I'll widen the hips some more and give her more of a sexy feel. But I don't want her to be to much T and A, she's supposed to be slim and feline like, very stealthy. And as much as I love T and A I don't think it would flow very well with the concept.

As for colors we were thinking of giving her a dark short hair cat fur look, with maybe a dark grey stripes. It's something I'm going to play with more in the concept and just see how it looks. We're also going with a going with a dark almost burnish gold look. I want to stay away from the usual polished gold look of the movies, and give her a more assasin feel, incorporating alot of dark colors. I'll work on a color palet tomorrow and post it up to get some opinions on it.

Thanks for the comments
-Mike

So I worked on the face some yesterday, I know we are still concepting but I had an idea that I think will help us get a push in the right direction. Some of the anatomy is still being worked out. Ill post more modeling updates soon. Coments are welcome!

Here's an update to the cocept. I've started working on color and have reworked the body a bit. Tony's currently working on the base mesh as we have that pretty much designed but I'm working on the clothes and armor and weapons at the moment... I didn't get as far as I wanted on it, but I you know, have to work in the morning :)

I hoping to have the concept all ironed out by the end of the weekend and it looking all nice (crossing fingers)

And remember Crits and Comments welcomed!

Okay, let's see what we can do here. It looks like a combo of Egytian and feline characteristics to both convey ancient and alien.

My personal opinion is get her covered up more, and be sure to limit your color palette to at least one dark color that will be the primary. Since it looks like a close-range fighter, I would focus on designs based on stealth and agility (especially since that's what felines excel in)

Also, if you're going the Egyptian route, be sure to include markings similar to hieroglyphics or something for decorative purposes and put them as a light color to help provide contrast with a dark color.

Looking forward to see what you come up with and I hope the above advice is helpful in some way. :)

Well here is a little work i have done on the concept. You kind of read our minds about the heiroglyphs and gold. We want to go with a black gold and have the heiroglyphs highlighted. I think a tarnished and aged look will go a long way with this model.

We also want there to be armored claws covering the hand. I think Mikes working that out.

I spent a little time on the concept but there is still alot to be done!!

Thanks for the crits

Well here's a start to the chest armor, started with the neck piece, and then went to the test, still thinking of ways to make the chest piece more elaborate but I'm going to call it a night, Crits and Comments welcome as Usual, so post away :)

I like the egyptian theme alot. :)

Looking nice guys.
My egyptian is a little bit rusty but,
do those hieroglyphics translate to Michael and Anthony?
lol
So is that armor made of metal or is it a more free moving leather?
If its metal maybe think of making it the famous egyptian blue gold!
Loving that your throwing in scarabs in the design, there such badace buggies.

Your Egyptian is pretty good.

I designed this chest armor on the fly after Mike and I talked about potential designs. I think that adding hieroglyphs wil help a lot.

I've created some of the armor for the torso in 3ds and will add jewels/mudbox detail to it tommorow afta wrk.

Im very close to finishing this high poly and should begin building the low poly today or tomorrow, work permiting. I Had to cut down the the divisions in mud box due to the fact that my computer could not handle very large amounts of polygons.

HMm I am no expert in low poly modeling (in fact my own entry is my first full body entry), but I think the face could be more optimized and possibly save some polys too. Good luck and keep up the good work!

Thanks Yung, this is also our first low poly character. Itís been a good learning experience and I would like to work on the topo, yet time is a big issue right now and we're trying to make the deadline.

Hey Guys, we're working on the texture right now, and I'm having problems getting the GLOW MAP to work. I'm going through max and the net but havn't really found anything very helpful. At the moment I'm using a lens effect but that just seems to be glowing out all of the geometry. Any help you could give would be great! Thanks!!!

Hey guys, here's a texture update. We still have to do the base, and add lots and lots of details but it's coming along. I'm still trying to figure out how to do the Glow effect so if anyone can help me with that it'd be great.
