Hi

I setup a jet flame, but I needed to be able to change the flame length, so I thought I wounder if the posmixer will do that, so after about 5 minutes I had a flame that I could make longer or shorter.

I then setup some user data fields with Expresso, to change the colour and brightness, and also to be able to turn the flame on and off.

The result is perfect.

I have only been using R8 for a month or so, I can forsee some amazing things happening in the not to distant future.

Chris.

Hi

I have not uploaded a pic before so I hope I get this right.

These are just a few at random but I think you get the idea.

I thought that the posmixer was only able to use a mesh, but it looks like you can also change other things with it to.

All paramaters are animatable.

oh yeah that looks pretty cool, could use some noise in the flame though...
would look great on a runway with lots of heat blur around

Hi Mike

The pic is just of the light souce, I have noise and smoke on the flame as well to make it look more realistic. Not sure at the moment to use PC or normal particals for the smoke! will work that out later.

It looks pretty good in with right setup.

what on earth would be wrong about posting a screen shot of your nodes?

OK here is a quick pic

First let me say that the mesh is not mine, I do not have the persons details that made it , so if this is your mesh then thanks and pm me with your details and I will send you the pic, your rights to the mesh are acknowledged.

As this is just a quick pic I did not what to spend time setting up the smoke useing pc as each setup needs to have its own settings it would be difficult to use a defualt one.

JIII I thought it would be best to ask about a screenshot of the knodes first as I do not what to be outside of the eula for r8.

If you/anyone would like the file just pm me your email and I will send it to you so you can see how I did it. or I will put a screenshot if you think that would be better.

Chris.
