If i open a file in 3ds max tutorial, I can apply, change color/materials of the hair but if i open 3ds max start creating an object and apply hair/fur to it, the color is always stay black and i couldn't change color or add material to it. after rendered, the hair is still black but the object color can be changed though. anybody come across this problem? i figured it must be something wrong with the setting before apply hair/fur to the object but i dont know what. please help out a newbie. thanks
