Hi everybody,

Here’s the first part of the film, its been a hell of a battle, I had to stand down on doing the music myself because of the deadline, so my father Harold J Dowswell is covering all the music now instead. Please let me know what you make of the whole thing, with full on crit of both animation and music, sometimes im not sure about it...lol. Deadlines are a real menace...lol, but so important...though I cant help thinking about that quote "you cant rush art".

I may very well do two versions of the film, with different scores and put both on the dvd.

Nice. Drags a bit but bearable with the music. Definitely sets a mood.
Now... MORE! 8)

And yes, bad thing to hurry Art. If I push it then the result is always substandard.

Right now I am assembling a story board for exactly the oposite. FAST.
And I mean turbo fast. With lot's of contents. The funny thing is that the start of your movie and mine is about the same haha. Spaceship/planet, docking lol. But I am not docking to a space station. That's where it starts to rapidly diverge. And there will be no action on the planet. My planet is just there to make the thing it docks to believable. And no, it's not a whale either 8). I am also not to experienced with character animation, so I try a FPS view and keep the animation of limbs and things likt it to a minimum. Camera work is much more difficult but I have a great plugin for the movement generation.

As I mentioned before, the music fit's nicely. Nothing better than a score which fit's to the scene. I am experimenting with Garageband and with smartsounds sonicfire pro.

Waiting for more. (Are we there yet?)
Rainer

PS:The link to the french maid movie site is also hillarious, but I guess you have no influence on the ad's they clad your movie into.

Fast can be great, as John Jansen says...we need people making films of all types and all editing styles, and that’s what keeps it interesting. One thing though that does tend to happen is if its fast editing over a long space of time it can get a bit headachy. Its fine for a short while though.

No, no control on the ad at the end, they’re meant to put one that suits the content of the film…lol, it is pretty funny yeah :)

Character animation is really difficult without a technical director and rigger, I do everything using forward kinematics, and also there’s something that I’m doing that people will probably see as a bit funny, but you’ll have to wait to see the rest of the film.

Can't wait! And my thingy will be about 1-2 Minutes. 2 Minutes is stretching it.
And I try to use as many ready made props as possible. I can't see myself pulling it off otherwise.

Nice job, so far.

I agree with Lemo, the shots are quite long. Too bad you couldn't cut in a few close ups to break things up. But, that's really a matter of taste.

Like the music, too. Really fits the scene.

Good luck with your thingy LemonNado :) hope it goes well.

Thanks bobzilla :)...the music I’ve been told he didn’t switch reverb on, so it should sound better once the whole lot is finished...im also trying to get him to take out the piercing sound, or make it more bassy...it seems to be awfully trebley at the moment!...lol :)

Thanks EPICI :)
