Title: Its for you.....
Name: Kevin Beckers
Country: Netherlands
Software: 3ds max, mental ray, Photoshop

I made this image after seeing a picture of rodin's statue "the thinker" with its head replaced by a logitech quick camera. that started me on making something logitech might make 50 years in the future. A so called super spy cam. The cell phone is a sony erricson k800i cybershot i had modelled but never really knew what to do with.

The idea is that the robot will help you out around the house a bit, bring coffee, wake you up in the morning, find your keys for you etc etc.

all modelled in max and rendered with mental ray. textures and post work done in photoshop.

Great idea (I love the camera, you can feel he's a real character) and very nice rendering. 4*
You mentioned using mental ray. I'm a Maya user myself but if you by any chance used mia material for the camera and the headphones I would very much appreciate taking a sneak peek at your setup for this material.
Cheers

That's an original concept dude  , how long did it take to render this thing?

thanks for the responses. glad yall like.

Vanquish: i'm not 2 shure how to interchange the materials tbh, what i used for the cameras mat was the new car paint shader that came with the latest mr. dunno if the maya version has that one. And for the headphones its very basic. just a light grey diffuse, falloff map that goes from medium grey to white and then highly blurred. I'll see if i can get them out so that maya can use them for ya.

gurgur : thanks man, didn't know you also roamed these corridoors.

Jassar : actually relatively short imo. the original image is around 1250x1700. With final gather on high, and sampling levels min 16 max 256 it took about 5 hours.
I use windows xp 64 on a 3 gig dual core 4300.

oh yea, your right. hm, is it at all possible to have this image replaced with a version that has the right spelling?.

i'm really happy with the great responses. hadn't expected it to be honest.
