CGTalk - Snow?

This is probably such a simple task - but I'm so new to the program, so please excuse my total ignorance...I've only been working with C4D for a few months at school, and I've been trying to make a snowy landscape...Nothing mountainous - I've tried some tutorials (creativecow, etc..) but I can't find any decent shader or texture to use on a plain for a flat (or hilly?) snowy landscape. If anyone can offer some tips or direct me to some good resources, thanks a lot..

Here's a good tip: download the free v.7.3 upgrade from Maxon's site. That'll give you Smells Like Almonds (SLA) and hence a whole new world of surfacing possibilities.
