Hello
I have been given some pretty ordinary green screen footage. It is recorded in PAL 720x576 with 1.442 ratio pixels at 50fps interlaced, it was then bought down to 24fps and de-interlaced before giving to me in uncompressed avi. When imported into AE due to the
the de-interlacing and lots of movement there is a great deal of aliasing. I have noticed that if I bring it in as PAL with square pixels then export at 768x576 the aliasing isnt too bad at all. However with 127 I'm not sure if re-exporting them all is worth it.
Has anyone got some hints and tips for me as getting good mattes is hard enough with the poorly lit greenscreen without have to deal with bad edges as well.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks

I'm pretty sure that 720*576 with widesreen pixel ratio always looks a bit more blurry than 768*576 in square pixel that would only squeeze the images. If you switch off the pixel aspect preview option in AE (button at the bottom of the preview window) and look at the comp squeezed you'll find it looks sharper. So I guess rendering in square pixel does not make any difference and would be a waste of time.
