Title: Samurai
Name: Marcin Szalek

Hello
This is my last work. I used 3d max for the model, photoshp for the textures and postproduction, and it was rendered in vray. All comments and critiques are welcome

A pretty decent job on the model, but my biggest crit would be the pose. This image does not really seem to make a statement or express an idea of any kind. It lacks drama. I would pose your samurai in a more dynamic pose. Show that there is strength in the character. Make him look powerful. Ask if he is just displaying his sword of if he is preparing to swing.

I disagree with the last post. the pose is fine. If you dramatize the pose it would make the image sentimental.
I crit the amount of blurring that you rely on.

Nice work!

That dusty feeling reminds me "Seven Samurai".
I like this one more than the one with the `Samurai` letter on your portfolio page.

The render is kinda cool, and the model is nice, but I agree that the pose isnt very dynamic. Ya really dont feel the power of the sword being unsheathed or swung. Hes very static and stiff. Also the bg is uninteresting, and the DOF is making your samurai look like a small toy. Dont add DOF just to add it.
