Title: Three Kings of Stone
Name: Fabio Comin
Country: USA
Software: Painter

The Three Kings of Stone. Explorer Idalgo Cortel surveys the enigmatic carvings that have stood at the edge of the western desert long before the coming of men to the barren world of Esperon. It is rumored that the figures guard the boundary between the world of the living and the land of the dead.

Fast Paint concept expanding on a thumbnail sketch, done using Painter IX. Total working time 1 hour 48 mins. Comments welcome.

I like this image alot, very economical use of (digital) paint and time to produce a solid atmosphere without needing to provide too much detail. Color pallette is nice, and so is brushwork.

My main crit is that the statues...seem to be verging on the brink of looking huge and distant, but aren't quite there solidly. I'm sorry I can't be more specific about what I'm saying, but hopefully someone else with a bit more experience can help here...maybe a haze effect? Perspective?

anyway, awesome job m8!
