I'm currently thinking of redesigning my homepage and this is what I've come up with. I want to keep it really really simple and straight forward yet have visual quality which tells people watching my site that I create high-class computergraphics content

What do you like best - what do you think I should change?

(1) Very minimalistic one

(2) A bit more stuff going on - quite Web2.0ish

(3) Even more bling bling

I'm not sure if I want to go with the gradient-web2 style which is quite hip at the moment (but also really overdone). I'm not a webdesigner. I need my page to showcase my 3d work. And I find it quite hard to come up with a pagedesign that is unique and fresh and new (just as it's very hard to do something like this in every area, not just webdesign). Basically I need something which does the job.

Looking forward to your oppinions - maybe you even think I should keep my current design (about 2 years old now)?

I like the minimalistic one the most, I think it works best as a portfolio. Puts more focus on the cintent, I think. I think you should change the colors though, to something closer to the other two. Perhaps change the background color of the content and menu parts to that silver, with a gradient that does not tile and just gives way to the table cell's assigned background color once it ends. Right now the dark grey contrasts with the red too much, starts to hurt the eyes after a while. They say that the portfolio design of someone who's not going into web design doesn't matter, but if it hurts your prospective employers, it definitely does xP

The first one looks a bit heavy on the left to me, unbalanced.

I like the layout of the second one, though you might want to change some of the orange/yellow on the graphics, they can distract the eye from viewing your art work, the eye is naturally drawn to yellows.

I like the first one. It's simple but nice:D

I think the second one would be my favourite if the colours were different (I am not too crazy about mixing orange-browns with gray). I would also like some sort of texture in the background...

I like third the least, mainly because of the overdone menu. I don't think the buttons really stylistically suit those circles in the banner.

Hope this helps, good luck!

Thanks for the comments. Here's (1) with the colours of (3). Starting to like this one best I have to say

Wow, the redesign is 1 really seems to combine the best of 1 and 2. I like it, but the bright orange/yellow circles are very distracting. It's nice to have some sort of motif, but perhaps you should tone the colors down. Slightly less saturated and more to the red side, perhaps?

definitely choose the gradient web 2.0 one. it is so much more interesting and professional. you may think it is overdone...but really it is just perfectly decked out. with content it will look even nicer.

i like the one with the signature...except that you ditched the landscape style...which i thought was more interesting...
