hi,
i was wondering if possibly there is a way to adjust the smoothness of the edges in wireframe display.. ?! .. i'm handling a model made out of many many surfaces and although
opengl view can pretty much handle it wireframe display mode is very quirky...
thanks

How about a screenshot first to give us an idea of what you mean.:) in rhino opengl usually
flawless smooth looking.
You might check your video card opengl settings and see if they are set to some very low
quality settings perhaps?
,..also what do you mean by quirky,is slow? or strange screen rotation? be specific if you can.
note*
"Use hardware driver modes"- Uses hardware acceleration.
Turn this option off- if the OpenGL acceleration causes problems with Rhino."

it sounds like the problem is with your graphics card not with Rhino

hi everyone, and thank you for your answers...
it might be a question of graphic cards, as i only have a mid-level one installed but...
but as long as opengl - shaded view can hold up i don't actually see a reason why
wireframe mode behaves that bad... to make an ideea of what i mean imagine this:
whenever i pan, or zoom in into one of this wiewports, because of the actual detail
put into the -i don't know how to call it exactly- smooth representation of the curves
which visually define the surfaces, rhino (or my graphic card) has troubles carrying out
the aforementioned operations, having to somewhat 'buffer' groups of surfaces...
and i'm thinking, that like in 'maya' there must be a curve smoothness slider to control
the 'refinement' of the curves...
it seems that i never found it, tried the help file and everything...

If I understand you correctly, you are trying to look for an option to control the interpolation of the curves to make them display with fewer segments and making navigation faster.

If so, I haven't found any option in Rhino that allows you to change settings for curve display yet. They will always be smooth if I'm not mistaken. :)

you are right (as far as i can tell) on both accounts...
thanks

try updating your graphics drivers, or use different hardware accel modes in options.
if nothing works go to registry and erase rhino registry they will be created new when rhino opens again.
Theres the always handy reinstall rhino option; if this doesnt work then you need to buy new graphics card. any old geforce or ati should be sufficient.
