View Full Version : New interface for Jeff Han's multi-touch display
maX_Andrews 02-08-2007, 05:39 AM No doubt many of you have seen the videos of Jeff Han's multi-touch display he co-developed with apple computer (this is the same tech used in the iphone display). (http://cs.nyu.edu/~jhan/ftirtouch/)
Well it seems that they've got a new, minority report-esque interface for it, here's a new demo showing some nifty stuff: http://www.bassictech.com/blogs/bassictech_news_blog/archive/2007/01/20/remapping-the-universe-using-this-gui.aspx

Hey- this looks like a total nightmare! I will be exhausted if i have to stand in front of a screen all day waving my arms around!! Great interface design would be one i could use while sitting in an arm chair (preferably while half asleep). :)

This would own. All Digital Artists and gamers will end up looking like a body builder after using the computer 11 hours a day for months. :p

You could use it as an office desk. Like the one in "The Island". The one where Lincoln Six Echo is painting the ship he has seen in his dream.

Hah hah! Yeah, this will do wonders for our health! I love the idea about getting excersize when you don't know it.
We needed this technology on the store shelves yesterday.

You better get a huge supply of monitor wipes, cause the smudges are going to be out of control. Especially if you work during lunch.

i'm so not into touch screens. like the wacom cintiq. used it for 5 minutes, wait, my hand is in front of the drawing, i gave up that problem 15 years ago when i went digital. now, multiple inputs simultaneously is a great idea, but no need for it to be tied to a touch screen, if i could just use 2 mice, one for each hand... bam.
