I really, really like what you've done with the character. You've taken it so far beyond the original!
For some reason, the illustration reminds me of Moebius. I don't know why.
I get a real feel for the size, I think because of the upwards angle and the tight closeup.

What is really cool is that you made a dorky looking 2D character look great in 3D! I really like the detail, now he doesn't look like some typical comic book villain, his suit is much more believable. Good job!
Hey man, I just tried to hit you up the other day.
Galactus looks great! My only crit would be to finish out the nose, it appears a little too soft and undefined.
Talk to you soon

Very nice on the colours and the lighting. As someone mentioned earlier, he has a dorky looking helmet in the comics and you have translated that into something far more than what most people would imagine. Nice touch on the eyes.

Monumental piece man! I like it. Maybe the skinshader allows too much light to be scattered through, therefore the nostrills look a bit too flat, but that's just a technical bit, other than that http://forums.cgsociety.org/images/rating/rating_5.gif from me! :applause:

Amazing work. I was a fan of the Russian woman you had featured in 3D world. You have a great portfolio.
I have a friend who's a Jack Kirby fan who was pointing out the cool cg in Marvel Ultimate Alliance. The low resolution PS2 animations don't even begin to do justice to your model.
You have a crazy amount of detail on your 3d meshes. What's your secret?

... I've always wondered about characters like this... it surely must take them the better part of the day to get themselves suited up in body armor like that... then by the point at which they and their minions and henchmen take up their respective positions within those labyrinthian and severly booby-trapped lairs... why, it's already time to knock off work and go out for a few cold ones... planets... whatever!
... good god! What if Galactus and the Dormin happened to bump into each other at the wrong moment and got into a fist fight? There'd be bits of armor plating flying everywhere!
Excellent work!!!

shadowman99 : Well, Marvel Ultimate Alliance is a great game...of course this is a cinematic model so it has much more detail than his ingame counterpart.
About the mesh...well, it`s not that heavy, it`s around 300.000 polygons in viewport i guess.

awesome model man. so much details! i like also the character design, cool.
but i've got some thoughts about this illustration.
the lighting set looks like some other your works and it makes your wonderful model a bit flat... i can't feel depth of field from foreground to background.
i feel something like a deja'vu about the colors you've choise for this illustration.
and i don't like the face...it's too inexpressive.
this is in my holy opinion of course.

Galactus. Devourer of Worlds, Ravager of Planets. Looks Awesome! Someone finally gave that head piece some kind of purpose.
A bit of trivia.
Silver surfer is probably the most well known herald to Galactus, but did you CG talkers know that Superman was also a herald of Galactus? (out of continuity of course)
How many of you new that?

As perfectly explained within the game itself (I actually had forgotten until it was mentioned in game), Galactus does not ingest the planet itself. He/it uses a machine to convert the planet into energy that he/it can absorb. That's why it's important that the planet has the ability to sustain life (and is already doing so) when he/it "devours" it. The energy of a dead planet would be insufficient fuel for him/it to survive long. I say "he/it" because Galactus is from a universe before our universe and while it's generally assumed that Galactus is male, no one has checked under the hood.
The Silver Surfer is the greatest of Galactus' heralds but he has had several, most of whom have turned on him at some point.
Man, I'm a geek. lol. Loved the game, one of the best Marvel related games I've played. Period.

Holy Cow! That is A W E S O M E!! I hope that would be in the third Fantastic Four movie! You made him look alive and real! If anyone see him appears on the planet now, say your prayers!
to what's_true about the height of Galactus: he's actually about 40 or 50 feet tall (not sure of the specific height). He used to be a humanoid being named Galen, a scientist, who lived to see the end of the dying universe and when it collapsed, Galen was transformed by an even-more powerful, unknown force of creation that eventually turned into a big bang, giving birth to a new universe, emerged with a godlike living force of nature known as Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds. I got this straight out remembering from Jack Kirby's single-issue The Origin of Galactus comic book from the 1980s (a rare gem in comic book collection industry). John Bryne was working on the Last Galactus Story serial for the Epic Illustrated magazine but he never finishes the last part, unfortunately. :(
